Introduction

Post graduate Institute of child health is one of its kind, dedicated all children hospital, with pediatric surgery as one of the most important departments of the institute, Department has faculty specialized in operating children with vast varieties of ailments and cater to their unique needs. they have expertise in treating birth defects, detecting and managing abnormalities before birth that may require surgical intervention Department entails treatment of surgical diseases of newborn, infants, children and adoloscents together untill the completion of growth and maturation. The department aims to provide, state of the art health care to pediatric surgical patients of upto 18 years of age with understanding of the special emotional needs of children and families during stressful events in a child and family friendly environment.

Patient Services

Department provides surgical care in various aspects of child health including: 1. Neonatal surgery. 2. Pediatric urology (inclusing pediatric UDS and uroflowmetry). 3. Pediatric onco-surgery. 4. Pediatric thoracic surgery. 5. Pediatric hepatobiliary surgery. 6. Minimal invasive surgery. 7. Neuarl tube defects and Hydrocephalus. 8. Antenatal counselling. 9. General pediatric surgery.

Department has various dedicated evening specialty clinics for streamlining of patients and better care. Patients are seen in these specialty clinics on appointment basis after getting registered in general OPD
